regional funding
Germany
is a federation of 16 regions (Länder), each of which has a responsibility
for culture and media. Most of the Lander offer financial support for
film and TV production. This support is aimed at individuals or companies
based in each region or for projects located in the region. Most of
the major Lander work closely with regional film commissions as well.
There
are five major regional funds:

Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg
- Berlin and Brandenburg
Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung
- covering Lander in the east of the country: Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt,
and Thuringia
And some
smaller ones, of which the largest are:
Medien-
und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Würtemberg (MFG) - Baden-Wurtemberg
Nordmedia - covering the northern
Lander, Lower Saxony and Bremen
