: A convict escaped from the jail will try to recover a haul hidden in an isolated village some years ago. But what he finds there will involve him in a sentence worst than the one he has suffered. Sinister ancients, strange disappearances, spirits, an odd parish priest and even Santiago de Compostela's archbishop will meet each other in a story full of terror, humour and fantasy.

: Marnie is a small, chubby cat and lives a comfortable life in the Sonnenschein family home. She is treated like the child that Rosalinde Sonnenschein never had. She lives like a princess and even has her own bedroom. All this infuriates Paul, who can’t stand his wife’s feisty cat. As Marnie has no friends, she spends a lot of time watching television and, when she gets bored, playing little tricks on Paul. One day Paul decides he has had enough and abandons Marnie at a rural petrol station. Marnie refuses to believe what has happened. She thinks that he has simply forgotten her and sets out to find her way back home as quickly as possible. Helpless and lost, she stumbles down the country road. She discovers an unfamiliar world outside her sheltered life, very different to what she has seen on television. In desperation she joins up with three other oddball animals: a loud-mouthed dog, who has absconded with his master’s tractor; a donkey, who hopes to get his big break performing in zebra 'drag' at the Circus Mozzarella; and a neurotic rooster on the run from his hens, who are hungry for revenge. Each of them has a different goal and tries to get their own way in the group. They soon run into difficulties and are forced to continue on their journey together. However, the four animals’ personalities clash more and more as time goes on and it is only when they are in dire straits that they realize they will have to overcome their differences and work together if they want to pull through. By the time they reach Marnie’s house at the end of their breathtaking adventure, Marnie has made an important decision. She is going to turn her back on her sheltered, monotonous life, stay with the other three animals and hold on to something she never had before: true friends and sense of belonging.

: Just when it’s time to migrate to Africa, Darius the elder of the flock and veteran migration guide gets mortally wounded by a big hungry cat. With none of his friends close to hand, he has no choice but to share all his secrets and new flying routes with the first bird that happens to come along. : For once, the Freak Brothers find themselves with plenty of cash and some righteous weed. But this is no ordinary marijuana: it's been genetically modified as part of a sinister plot by the Government - the ultimate weapon in the war against drugs. So when Norbert the Nark - secret agent and rock-jawed defender of decency- accidentally gives the prototype dope to the Freak Brothers, with Government agents hot on their trail the boys have to leave town fast. Now's the time to fulfil their long-cherished dream of retiring to grow marijuana in the country. Although they've never attempted even basic survival more than a hundred yards from a 7-11, they acquire a remote plot of land and get to grips with Mother Nature - who quickly fights back. The three obliging chicks who join their 'commune' become less obliging once they acquaint the Freak Brothers with the realities of modern gender politics. Meanwhile, the local town turns out to be run by a hot-gospel fundamentalist religious sect which baptises wild animals. And what goes on in the Secret Sinister Government Research Institute, run by the brilliant but disturbed Dr Squine up in the hills? Surely the Brothers haven't chosen to hide right next to the very place where the Government is testing the genetically modified 'product'... ..can they? This hilarious, rip roaring yarn is includes Fat Freddy's Cat, whose sagacity and tolerance in the face of perpetual human idiocy makes him the expert witness. His admirable sang froid is ruffled only when he falls in love with a local mountain lion. As the story reaches a nail-biting, bong-clutching climax, only his selfless heroism can save the Freak Brothers from the most dangerous enemies of all - themselves.
